How Your Faith Feeds (Or Starves) Your Family
There’s a version of faith that’s easy to have when life is going well.
Your kids are healthy.
Your marriage is good.
Business is moving.
Everybody gets home safely.
And then there’s the kind of faith that gets tested when none of that is guaranteed.
My friend Gabriel Mira knows something about that.
Over the last year, Gabe and his family walked through something I wouldn’t wish on anyone:
His wife, Melissa, needed a heart transplant.
And in my latest conversation with Gabe, I wanted to know what happens to a man — a husband, a father, a leader — when he realizes he cannot control the outcome.
What does trusting God actually look like then?
How do you lead your family when you’re scared?
How do you stay grounded when the woman you love is fighting for her life?
And what happens to your faith when prayer doesn’t immediately change the circumstances?
This wasn’t a conversation about having all the answers.
It was about what remains when the answers disappear.

Gabe is one of the men who will be leading this September for PATRIARCH: Reviving Fatherhood, Family & Moral Leadership.
Because this is exactly the kind of conversation I want fathers hearing.
Not theory.
Men who have actually had their beliefs tested by life — and can tell us what survived.
