Stop Entertaining your Kids

Most dads want to give their kids a better life.

A better home.
Better opportunities.
Better memories.

But what if we've misunderstood the assignment?

The goal isn't to make your child's life easier.

The goal is to make your child more capable.

That means inviting them into your life instead of constantly creating one for them.

Let them help build the deck.

Let them crack the eggs.

Let them carry the groceries.

Let them mow crooked lines into the lawn.

Will it take longer?

Absolutely.

Will they make mistakes?

Constantly.

That's the point.

Confidence isn't something we tell our kids they have.

It's something they discover because we trusted them with something difficult.

And here's the harder question.

Can we tolerate the mess?

Can we surrender control?

Can we remember that we're raising men and women — not just completing today's task?
