The thing nobody told you about love languages
Hey,
I used to think I just needed to figure out her love language.
Like if I could crack the code — acts of service, words of affirmation, whatever — I'd finally get it right. She'd feel loved. We'd be good.
So I learned it. I spoke it. I checked the boxes.
And it helped. A little. For a while.
But something still felt off. Like I was filling out a form instead of loving a woman.
This week on the podcast I got into why.
Love languages aren't wrong. They're just incomplete. Because the real question isn't which language does she speak — it's do you have the capacity to actually show up for her?
Stressed, depleted, running on fumes men don't fail their marriages because they don't know their wife's love language. They fail because they're so far inside their own survival that they have nothing left to give.
Regulation first. Leadership second. Love languages are just the dialect.
That's what the episode is about. Go listen.
While I've got you —
I opened something this week that I've been building for a while.
It's called The Grit Collective. It's free. It's on Skool. And it's exactly what I wish existed when I was white-knuckling my way through the provider paradox with no one to talk to about it.
Weekly challenges. Real tools. Men who will call you up instead of letting you stay stuck.
Not a Facebook group. Not another place to doom scroll. A brotherhood.
If you're a husband or a father who's done coasting — come in.
And if you're ready to go deeper —
30 days. Four words. BURN the patterns holding you back. Build UNION with your wife. Become the HARBOR your family runs to. Lead as the STEWARD your kids need.
$197. Starts the moment you walk in the door.
That's it from me this week.
Keep showing up.
