They Lied to You About Marriage — and Most Men Fall For It
There’s a lie almost every man buys into.
A lie that sounds reasonable.
A lie that feels fair.
A lie that is slowly destroying modern marriages.
Here it is:
“Marriage is 50/50.”
And the worst part?
You believed it.
Not because you’re weak—
but because you were trained to believe it.
As boys, we’re raised to be independent.
Handle our own needs.
Don’t rely on anyone. Don’t burden anyone.
But in marriage?
We quietly expect a fair exchange:
“I’ll love you in your way… if you love me in mine.”
And this works—
until life gets real.
Stress hits.
Kids come.
Sleep disappears.
Emotions rise.
Communication tightens.
Connection thins.
Suddenly, neither of you are showing up
the way the other wants.
And the 50/50 model collapses.
It always does.
Because marriage isn’t 50/50.
Marriage is a Sacred Union.
A vow to go ALL-IN.
Especially when it’s messy.
Especially when she’s stressed.
Especially when she’s not pouring into you
in the way you wish she would.
That’s the moment a man shows who he truly is.
Not on the honeymoon.
Not during the easy seasons.
But when she’s overwhelmed.
When she’s closed.
When the distance between you feels cold.
That’s when love becomes leadership.
That’s when devotion becomes direction.
"But what about MY needs?"
Fair question.
Real question.
Valid question.
But here’s the hard truth:
When you lead with conditions,
you create conditions.
When you hold back until she acts first,
she feels it.
When you wait for her to soften,
she hardens even more.
When you love with an open hand,
she opens.
This isn’t manipulation.
It’s nervous system leadership.
It’s polarity.
It’s Sacred Union.
Let’s talk “Love Languages” for a moment…
I’m going to say something that might make you cringe:
Love languages can make your marriage worse.
Not because the idea is bad—
but because most couples weaponize it.
“I’ll speak your love language
if you speak mine.”
That’s not intimacy.
That’s a contract.
And intimacy dies under contracts.
But when you first met her?
You didn’t pull out a Love Language Playbook.
You didn’t have to think about pursuing her.
You didn’t calculate affection or admiration.
You just loved the sh*t out of her.
Naturally.
Fully.
Open-heartedly.
That man still lives in you.
He’s not dead — he’s buried under stress, hurry, and survival mode.
So here’s the truth:
Love is simple.
But it’s not easy.
It’s not 50/50.
It’s 100/0 until she feels safe enough to open again.
It’s not about personality.
It’s about PRACTICE.
It’s not about “what’s my love language?”
It’s about…
**Serve her.
Admire her.
Court her.
Hold her emotions.
Listen to her soul.
Love first.
Love fully.
Love without conditions.**
She will open again.
Just like she did in the beginning.
If you want to go deeper… you need to hear this conversation.
On Episode 30 of the UNCOMMON Podcast, I sat down with Kim Anami, one of the most powerful voices in the world on polarity, erotic connection, and conscious monogamy.
If today’s topic hit you at all —
this episode will hit even harder.
Final word for you, brother…
You weren’t taught this.
You weren’t modeled this.
You weren’t initiated into this.
That’s not your fault.
But it is your responsibility now.
Because your marriage will not change
until YOU do.
Do the work.
So they won’t have to.

Peace & power,
