You're doing it all for them. So why does it feel like you're missing it?
Hey,
Frank had the balls to ask the question most men are too afraid to voice.
Am I present enough? Am I focusing on the right things? Am I building a career at the expense of the years I'll never get back?
I know that question. I lived it.
I had the title. The office with the nameplate. The Audi in Skokie because my coworkers drove Audis. The engagement ring I'm still a little embarrassed about.
I was living the dream.
And I was digging grooves into my leather steering wheel from the anxiety I thought was just normal.
That's the performance trap. And most men are in it without knowing it.
You're not failing your family because you don't love them enough.
You're failing them because nobody taught you how to shift gears. From the battlefield of work to the garden of home. From warrior mode to present father. From provider to the man they actually need when you walk through that door. (And remember, "to fail" -- at it's root -- means "to trip"...and what do we do when we trip?)
This week's episode is for Frank. And it's for you.
We get into the performance trap. The provider paradox. The 2026 version of the absent dad — physically there, nowhere near present. And the one practice that makes the shift possible.
61% of dads say they're not doing a good enough job.
This episode is for that 61%.
